Creme de la Curves Fashion Show September 8, 2011
Crazy Cowgirl to Gifts Beauty Water to Attendees
MonOrchid Gallery 314 E
Roosevelt was the site of a Night of Fashion
for curvy girls. Sponsors include
Torrid and
Lane Bryant. Host
Eliza Davis says,
"Is there really anything more aggravating then
heading out to a store, you spot that one
perfect item, only to find they don't have your
size. Whether your size 0-28, we've all been
there. Eliza Davis is working for the curvy
girls, bridging the gap between local boutiques
and the curves who love to shop. "
Her Creme de la Creme Fashion Show brought out
several local designers showing their
collections. Plus sized models proved size
doesn't dictate being fashionable. Gorgeous hair
and makeup along with jewelry by
Stella & Dot and
Silpada created as
cosmopolitan an image as any NYC runway.
Keeping the masses fed were Eric and Julia
Ireland of
torched goodness
serving up crème brulee, pasta and salads.
Designs from Strut, Deeds of Love (video) Kika Paprika, Purple Diva Designs (video), Torrid (video) and Lane Bryant (video) filled the runway with everything from party dresses to kick back casual and lingerie in style. Hair and makeup by Curtis Blue, Vicki Xericos and Jamie Kouri created an exotic canvas on which to display the hottest fashion. (Runway1) (Runway2) (Runway3) (Runway4) (Runway5) (Climax)
