Randall Guy Dixon
Randall Guy Dixon was born in Miami, Arizona on July 5, 1966 and died on
July, 8th, 2013 at the age of 47 from complications of Juvenile Diabetes
(Type 1). He attended Maryvale High School in Phoenix, Arizona where he
excelled in JROTC when he was awarded Expert Marksman along with many
other honors. He gave his life to the Lord and attended Christ United
Methodist Church and was very active in the Boy Scouts and became an
Eagle Scout. After high school, he received a technical degree in
electronics while working 2 jobs. His kidneys failed due to diabetes and
he was deathly ill, but received a kidney transplant from a deceased
donor on October 29, 1991 which gave him over 21 years more life. His
family named the kidney “Maynard” and it received cards and presents on
the transplant anniversary each year thereafter. From there, he became
very strong, regained most of his eyesight, and received a Bachelor’s
Degree in Computer Systems Engineering. His first professional job was
in Lewisville, Texas, next in Tucson, Arizona, and his last job was in
Scottsdale, Arizona at General Dynamics where he worked on various
military defense projects. He courageously fought chronic illnesses for
most of his life; but, no one ever witnessed him complain of the pain,
because he knew that this was his temporary home and that he was going
to heaven after he died. God promises his believers that they will dwell
with him for eternity and will have new bodies. Isaiah 35:3-5 3
Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; 4 say to
those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come,
he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to
save you.” 5 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of
the deaf unstopped.
Survivors include: his wife, Amy Dixon (of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma); his
parents, Benjamin & Virginia Brent (of Prairie Grove); sister, Robyn
Bell (of Goodyear, Arizona); brother, Richard Dixon (of Prairie Grove);
brother & sister-in-law, Benjamin Jr. & Becky Brent and their son, Devan
Brooks (of Newcastle, Oklahoma); niece, Jessica Bell, and her son,
Christian Bell (of Goodyear, Arizona); and his assistance dog “Duke”.
